For some, it would be a dream come true, with customers and employees with no choice but to have a bunker in the store.
Ikea customers trapped in the showroom of a Danish store were forced to spend the night after a snowfall.
Six customers and about two dozen employees were forced to spend the night inside the Aalborg store after Wednesday’s storm hit.
The group got trapped inside the store after nearly 12 inches of snow fell, leaving customers and employees trapped. Sun informed of.
Opting not to attempt trekking in the chilly weather, customers had the rare opportunity to actually try out their potential new bedroom sets.
At the instant sleepover each guest chose Ikea products and mattresses that they liked.
“We slept in furniture exhibitions and in our showroom on the first floor, where we have beds, mattresses and sofa beds,” store manager Peter Elmrose told Denmark’s Ekstra Bladet newspaper.
The workers of the toy shop nearby also got trapped and joined in the fun.
Toy store manager Michelle Barrett said: “It’s so much better than sleeping in someone’s car. It’s been nice and warm and we’re just glad they let us in.”
“We just laughed at the situation, because we probably won’t experience it again.”
The pictures show a group of trapped customers enjoying themselves in various furniture displays.
