Argentina had previously won the title in 2005 in Rotterdam, where they defeated Australia 2-1.
Argentina were the better team in the first quarter as they dominated the game by putting heavy pressure on the German defense.
As their game is on, the Germans sit back and wait for the counterattack.
But Germany’s move reversed and Argentina gave Domaine the lead from a penalty corner in the 10th minute.
Argentina doubled their lead in the 25th minute when Domino once again found the back of the net from a penalty corner to take a 2-0 lead at half-time.
But the Germans took an entirely different side after a change of ends and managed to close the gap in the 36th minute through a field strike by Heiner.
With one goal behind and only 15 minutes left, the Germans continued to attack and Pfundt scored from a set piece in the 47th minute.
But it was not Germany’s day as Domne struck again from a set piece in the 50th minute, before Agostini scored with a field effort on the stroke of the final hooter to shatter Germany’s hopes of a seventh title.
Earlier in the day, defending champions India lost 1-3 to France to finish fourth in the competition.
